Family and Friends

Anne grew up in Dayton, Ohio as part of the large, close-knit Ash family. As with many families these days, the family has since spread across the United States to Virginia, California, Michigan, Texas, and, of course, Anne on Chicago's North Shore. They remain close with frequent E-Mail sessions, joint vacations, and gatherings for family events.

Anne graduated from Albion College in Michigan with dual majors in English and Speech. She met her husband, Tom, after college while teaching in Philadelphia. She and Tom have lived on Chicago’s North Shore for over 30 years.

Tom and Anne's first daughter, Meredith, currently lives on the North Shore with her husband, Todd Schreiber. Meredith graduated from Cornell University's Hotel School with a major in Food and Beverage and manages Food Operations for Levy Restaurants at the Ravinia Music Festival

Tom and Anne's second daughter, Elizabeth, also a graduate of the Hotel School at Cornell University, majored in Marketing and works for Digitas, Inc., an internet marketing firm in Boston.



North Shore Community Organizations

Since coming to Chicago's North Shore, Anne has been involved in charitable and community organizations such as the Junior League of Evanston and the North Shore, the Young Women's Auxiliary of the Woman's Club of Evanston, Kappa Alpha Theta's North Shore Alumnae Chapter, and the North End Mother's Club. These organizations promote the community through historic preservation, need based college scholarships, political participation, and volunteerism.

Balance

Anne loves to travel and with her family spread across the country. Recently she grabbed the opportunity to visit Australia and New Zealand to dive the Great Barrier Reef, visit the Rainforest and tour the vineyards of Queenstown, New Zealand. Last year’s trips have included Boston, Detroit, Dayton, Northern Wisconsin, Carmel, San Francisco, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina for an Ash Family Reunion and the 100th Anniversary of Dayton's own Wright Brothers' Historic Achievement. In her spare time, Anne works on improving her golf and bridge games and reads novels and non fiction when possible.
